Vietnam Social Networking for Professionals?

My friend just got an invitation from vnSpoke, a social networking service for Vietnam's professionals (Vietnameses or/and expatriates working in Vietnam or/and...). The logo is a kind of GoingOn clone. Vnspoke model may follow OpenBC, LinkedIn but I see the Konnects or Zoodango platforms better chance. With Konnects you can join many groups or integrate your own network, that you have somethings in common beside just business concern. Zoodango "connects professionals through local events and preferred venues like Starbucks, a place where you can express your lifestyle in relation to your profession". If you are a professional, do you connect to vnSpoke? Is vnSpoke professional?

  1. :idea:There is a professional Vietnamese community on Konnects: http://vietnamese.konnects.com focused on business networking.

  4. Hi Jason,
Do you know what company creates vnSpoke? My guess is Vietnamwork/Navigos Group, since it's a right service for them, and there're a few Vietnamworks' employees on the site. But vnSpoke domain was registered by a FPTer. Maybe FPT develops this site for their client? Anyway, I really want to know who's behind this site, since LinkedIn is one of my favorite SNS.

  5. Hi Sonny,

vnSpoke was founded by an independent group not affliated with navigos/vietnamworks. As a co-founder, I'm really excited to see people talking about it. I know Konnects attempts to integrate specific groups, but I'm a true believer in users being able to communicate in their native language. You can't have a community of active users if don't localize content. Love to hear your thoughts...

  6. That is true you need to have that relevant local feel or else the audience will not stay around.
